11:00 - 11:20 Installer Business Opportunity:What is The Green Deal and what's in it for me?

The Green Deal is the UK government’s flagship policy to drive the retrofitting of 27 million homes by 2050. To meet this ambitious target, they need a network of MCS accredited installers who can keep pace with demand. And for those who invest in training now, major business opportunities await. Find out about The Green Deal from the team who are developing it at DECC.
11:30 - 11:50 Business Growth Skills: What training do you need to be a competent Green Installer?

For installers to benefit from the commercial opportunities presented by the Green Agenda they need to be ensure they have the knowledge and practical skills required by industry to meet scheme requirements and consumer expectations. EAL’s presentation will familiarise installers with their options for skills and training and help them to avoid rogue training schemes. Explaining terms such as accredited, certificated, QCF and credits each installer will leave EAL’s presentation confident of the training that they need to undertake to operate safely.

Salford Energy hub can carry out a number of different tests both in a laboratory environment and in the newly constructed test house within an environmental chamber. Get the lowdown on the best performing refurbishment innovations.
14:10 - 14:30 Business Growth Skills:The BAXI Guide to MCS Training

With the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and the related Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) on the horizon, installers will need to be Microgeneration Certified to offer these incentives to their customers. Solar Thermal, Air Source Heat Pumps, Biomass and Ground Source Heat Pumps are all applicable for the RHI and RHPP.
